IMM Metrohan
Metrohan, connected to Tünel, considered the second oldest subway in the world, was designed by French engineer Eugène‑Henri Gavand, with construction starting in 1871 and completed in 1875. In addition to the Tünel station operating on the ground floor, office units were also put into service in 1914. Taken over by IETT in 1939, Metrohan was used as the institution's general directorate building until 1983.
This building, which holds a deep-rooted place in Beyoğlu's memory, underwent an extensive restoration process in the 2020s. As part of the restoration, Biconsilio meticulously renovated the doors and windows of the historic structure. Large custom-designed bookshelves and seating groups were produced for the executive offices; new doors were designed with high-quality materials, in keeping with the historical atmosphere. These meticulous efforts enhanced Metrohan's aesthetic value while ensuring its compliance with modern standards in terms of both comfort and safety.
