IMM MODA PIER
Moda Pier, located in Istanbul's Kadıköy district, has served for many years as one of the important points for sea transportation. The piers built during the Ottoman period and the early years of the Republic strengthened the city's connection with the sea and played a significant role in the social and economic life of the region. Moda Pier, too, has become a symbol of both sea transport and local life within this historical process.
The pier, which had undergone various deteriorations over time, has regained its former glory through a comprehensive restoration project carried out by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. During the restoration process, the decoration work carried out by Biconsilio using natural materials such as wood and metal highlights the original character of the Moda Pier. These natural materials have played a harmonious and aesthetically complementary role with the historical texture of the space. Overall, the project successfully achieved its goal of preserving the historical aesthetic and unique identity of the space while renewing it both functionally and visually.
