SHEIKH NEVRUZ MOSQUE
Located in Kandilli, the pearl of the Bosphorus, Nev Mekan Kandilli stands out as one of Istanbul's rare structures with its historical texture, elegant architecture, and prime location. This valuable building, which had deteriorated over time, has been re-functionalized while preserving its original character and adapted to contemporary needs.
As Biconsilio Furniture Design and Restoration, we carried out a comprehensive restoration process in this special project, respecting the historical identity of the building. While the structural elements and exterior aesthetics of the building were preserved, the aim was also to meticulously reveal the original details in the interior.
Within this scope, the wooden doors and windows were meticulously restored in the project. By preserving the original wooden materials and replacing them where necessary, the doors and windows were reconstructed both aesthetically and functionally. These renovation works preserve the historical fabric of the building while also meeting modern security and insulation standards.
The project adopted not only repairs but also sustainable solutions to ensure continuity. In addition to the wooden details, the furniture used in the interior was specially designed and placed to be in harmony with the overall atmosphere of the structure. At every step, the traces of the past were preserved, and the building was given the identity of a contemporary living space.
